Meet Alexander T. Santiago
Artist & EducatorI am Alexander T. Santiago. I am a 3D Modeler Assistant Professor, and Entrepeneur.
After graduating college with a degree in Creative Media, I wanted to be a 3D modeler but initially had a hard time getting my foot in the door. I found some success as a freelance artist, but I found my calling as an educator, teaching 3D animation and helping students tell their own stories.
Our Values
People undervalue arts and artists. Without art, the STEM fields would be nothing. Art has inspired some of the greatest technological advancements in history. Cell phones, video calling, e-readers. None of these would be around if it wasn’t for science fiction dreaming of those possibilities.
This blog believes in people’s potential. We value artists and see the value they add to the world. In a society where people don’t see the value artists and creatives bring, we want to break the stereotype of a starving artist. We want to make the world value artists and help artists not just live, but thrive!
I often think of a quote from the movie Dead Poets Society. In the movie, a teacher named John Keating, portrayed by Robin Williams, teaches poetry, but I believe his lessons apply to all art creation. My modified version of the quote is:
“We [create art] because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But [art,] poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”
― Dead Poet Society
Our Misson
This blog’s mission is to help artists break away from the underappreciated “starving artist” stereotype. We want to help artists thrive and build the life they want for themselves. To do that, we help you grow your artistic skills and business savvy. We will do our best to provide content that will be helpful to artists as they navigate the world of content creation, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
